Run the night.
We’ll explain the buttons.

Setup, selling, staff, menus, payouts, and the weird stuff that only happens five minutes before doors open.

01I’m setting up AVNT

Account, venue, dashboard, and payouts.

Fast checks before you email a screenshot.

01

Start here

From zero to first order.

01
Create your venue account

The owner login comes first. Staff PINs come later.

  1. Open Create an AVNT account.
  2. Choose the venue type that matches how you sell: nightlife or coffee shop.
  3. Enter the owner email, a secure password, and the venue details.
  4. Finish account creation, then sign in with that same owner email.
02
Sign in to the client dashboard

Your off-iPad control room.

  1. Open the Client Dashboard.
  2. Use the venue owner email and password—not a staff PIN.
  3. Choose what you need: performance, menu, history, staff, floor, inventory, time clock, or setup.

If the login works on the iPad but not the website, make sure you are using the owner account rather than a staff profile.

03
Set up payments & payouts

Banking details stay on Stripe.

  1. Sign in to AVNT, then open Set up payouts.
  2. If AVNT asks, re-enter your owner password. This confirms it is really you.
  3. Select Continue to Stripe and complete the business and bank questions Stripe shows.
  4. When you finish, Stripe sends you back to the AVNT payout page automatically.
  5. If the status is still pending, select Check Stripe status. Stripe may still need verification.
04
The five-minute pre-open check

Do this before a line exists.

  • 01

Open Sell. Confirm tonight’s menu and prices look right.

  • 02

Check the reader. It should be charged, nearby, and connected.

  • 03

Confirm staff. Everyone working should have their own PIN.

  • 04

Select tonight’s night. Make sure the correct specials are active.

  • 05

Run one small test. Add an item, reach checkout, then cancel before charging.

02

Sell & get paid

Fewer taps. Shorter line.

01
Build and edit an order

Add it, adjust it, send it.

  1. Open Sell and choose a category or search for an item.
  2. Tap an item to add it to the current order.
  3. Use the quantity controls in the order panel to add or remove units.
  4. Review the subtotal, tax, and total before choosing cash or card.

If an item needs choices—such as coffee size or milk—AVNT asks before adding it.

02
Take a card payment

Order, tip, reader, done.

  1. Build the order and select Charge.
  2. Hand the customer the tip and signature screen when it appears.
  3. Ask them to present their card or supported wallet to the connected reader.
  4. Wait for AVNT to confirm the payment before clearing the counter.
03
Record a cash payment

AVNT handles the math. You handle the bills.

  1. Build the order and select Cash.
  2. Choose the amount received or enter the tender shown.
  3. Confirm the change due, return it to the guest, and complete the sale.

Cash sales are still recorded in History and included in venue reporting.

04
Tips & automatic gratuity

Know what is automatic and what the guest adds.

Guest-selected tips are chosen during card checkout. Automatic gratuity is a venue setting applied to eligible card orders before the customer adds any optional extra tip.

  1. Open Setup.
  2. Find Automatic gratuity.
  3. Turn it on and choose the venue’s percentage.
  4. Run a test order and review the checkout totals before opening.
05
Work with open tabs

Keep a guest’s order open without losing the room.

  1. Open New Tab and identify the guest or group.
  2. Add items normally from Sell.
  3. Use Open Tabs to return to the order later.
  4. When needed, move selected items or combine them into another authorized tab.
  5. Close the tab only after payment is confirmed.
04

Staff & nights

Give everybody the right access.

01
Add staff & personal PINs

Shared iPad. Individual accountability.

  1. Open Setup, then Staff.
  2. Add the staff member’s name and assign their personal PIN.
  3. Ask them to sign in once before the shift starts.
  4. Remove or deactivate access when someone should no longer use the POS.
02
Clock in & out

Start the shift before starting the rush.

  1. Open Clock In / Out on the iPad.
  2. Select the staff profile and follow the PIN prompt.
  3. Repeat at the end of the shift to clock out.
  4. Owners can review time activity from the dashboard.
03
Create nights & specials

Build Friday once. Use it again next Friday.

  1. Open Setup, then Nights.
  2. Create or choose the recurring night.
  3. Add the drink specials that belong to it.
  4. Set the active night before service and confirm its specials on Sell.
05

Owner tools

See what the shift is doing.

01
Read the performance screen

Sales, tips, tax, orders, and what is actually moving.

  1. Open Analytics.
  2. Choose the period: tonight, a recent range, or the longer view available in the dashboard.
  3. Use total collected for money received and sales mix for the breakdown.
  4. Check order count, average sale, items sold, tips, tax, refunds, and best sellers.

Dashboard analytics come from AVNT order records. Stripe payout timing is a separate status.

02
Find a receipt or completed sale

When somebody says, “I think I was charged…”

  1. Open History.
  2. Search or narrow the visible orders until you find the sale.
  3. Open the receipt to review items, payment, tax, and tip details.
  4. Before retrying a questionable payment, confirm whether a completed charge already exists.
03
Understand payout status

Connected does not always mean verified yet.

Ready
Stripe has enabled charges and payouts for the venue.
Pending
The account exists, but Stripe still needs information or verification.
Action required
Return to Stripe setup and complete the requested fields.

Use Check Stripe status after returning from Stripe. AVNT rechecks the account instead of trusting the redirect alone.

06

Fix something

Fast checks before panic.

01
Stripe setup did not finish

Start with the boring checks. They work surprisingly often.

  1. Return to AVNT payout setup and select Check Stripe status.
  2. If more information is required, select Continue to Stripe again.
  3. Complete every visible Stripe requirement, including business verification—not only the bank account.
  4. Let Stripe redirect you back to AVNT. Avoid closing the page mid-step.
  5. If it still fails, email a screenshot and the approximate time it happened.
02
The reader is not ready

Do not make the customer become the troubleshooting plan.

  • 01

Confirm the reader has power and is close to the iPad.

  • 02

Confirm the iPad has a working internet connection.

  • 03

Return to the reader controls and let AVNT scan again.

  • 04

If a charge may have started, check History before attempting another payment.

03
I cannot sign in

Owner login and staff access are different doors.

  1. For the client dashboard, use the owner email and password.
  2. For staff access on the POS, use the staff member’s personal PIN.
  3. Check for accidental spaces and confirm the email is the one used to create the venue.
  4. If the owner password needs help, contact hello@posavnt.com.
04
The internet dropped

Know the difference between “offline” and “probably fine.”

Unless AVNT explicitly shows that offline card payments are available for this venue and reader, treat card checkout as online-only.

  1. Do not repeatedly submit the same payment.
  2. Restore the iPad’s connection and wait for the reader to reconnect.
  3. Check History for the sale before charging again.
  4. Use the venue’s approved fallback process while connectivity is unavailable.
07

Common questions

The quick answers.

01

Can I try AVNT without setting anything up?

Yes. The website demo uses simulated orders and payments, so you can try the bar and coffee workflows without charging a real card.

02

Does AVNT support coffee shops?

Yes. Coffee venues get size selection, espresso shot counts, milk, syrup, extras, preparation choices, and optional upcharges.

03

Can a bartender use the owner dashboard?

Not with a staff PIN. The client dashboard requires the venue owner’s email and password.

04

Does AVNT store my bank login?

No. Banking and verification details are entered on Stripe’s hosted setup, not inside AVNT.

05

Why is my payout status pending?

Stripe may still be reviewing the account or waiting for more business information. Reopen setup and check for required fields.

06

Is the website demo a real POS?

It mirrors the flow, but it does not create live charges, change your venue menu, or save a real sale.
